Trump Offers New York District Attorney Hush Money to Drop Hush Money Indictment

New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg released a phone recording on Sunday that reveals former President Donald Trump offering him a lump-sum payment in exchange for agreeing not to pursue charges against him in the Stormy Daniels case.

“People want to see America first. If I get indicted—we no longer have a country, Alvin,” Trump said on the call. “I’ll give you the same amount I gave Stormy if you help put me back in the White House—that big beautiful building—that building was not the easiest to live in, if I am honest. And because you’re playing hardball with by far the current leader of the Republican presidential primary, I’ll throw in two really fantastic classified documents, a Trump NFT trading card, and nine holes of golf at Mar-a-Lago with yours truly.”

Later in the day, Trump held a rally at a new MyPillow.com factory in South Carolina. He told the crowd, “A lot of people say, ‘How do you do it, sir?’ No, really. A man comes up to me the other day with tears in his eyes—successful businessman, everyone knows him—very large man and he says, ‘Can I ask you a question, Mr President? How do you do it? Every day they send you subpoenas. They’re looking to take you down. I couldn’t do it.’ And I told him, ‘I’m doing it for you. All the crimes are for you.’ In 2016, I declared, ‘I am your voice.’ Today, I add, I am your defendant, I am your felon.”

Earlier in the week, a judge denied Trump’s request to move his trial to Russia.
