You may need to buy a compass or hire a private detective to find Artichoke & Vine in Boca Raton, Florida but you’ll be glad you did. Nestled in a commercial building without any signage, you’d never know that one of South Florida’s best 100% vegan restaurants is hiding inside. It’s the buzz around town and it lives up to the hype.

The extraordinary customer engagement is matched by a combination of unique and mouth-watering raw and comfort food. I was greeted by a kind, genuine, and informative hostess/waitress, who eagerly discussed the restaurant’s mission and menu. The ambiance is comfy and the vibe is relaxing.

I sampled the Jackfruit Ropa Vieja bowl ($12.50), raw Pad Thai ($13.95), and the raw Tacos ($13.95). The Tacos are a walking advertisement for raw food. You will marvel at the bursting flavor–and want to order them every time you return. The Pad Thai is healthier tasting but still fulfilling, and the Jackfruit bowl is nothing short of a work of art–both in terms of its color montage and its recurring gifts to the palate. This isn’t the type of food you can easily make at home.

As if the greeting and food weren’t stellar enough, the friendly chef and owner visited my table separately, joined me, and spoke about their food and mission to promote plant-based eating. For a moment, I felt like I was living in another era. They clearly understand the importance of valuing customers as a small business. As a result, I’ve referred dozens of people to their restaurant in the past few weeks and I’ll continue to visit.

Run to Artichoke & Vine! Drive a long distance if necessary. Come hungry because you’ll want to eat everything. Just don’t forget your map.
