Melania Trump was seen kneeling during the national anthem today while attending a Washington Redskins game. She was scheduled to present a group of local Washington, D.C. school children with a plaque at halftime for their award-winning anti-bullying campaign.
“I wanted to send a clear message that I don’t support this president’s racism, so I took a knee,” Melania explained. “I know he’ll slam me for it on Twitter.”
Melania added that she also took a knee to protest Scott Pruitt’s attempts to kill every animal and person, Steve Mnuchin’s corruption, Sonny Perdue’s efforts to make America obese and sick, and the entire Trump administration.
“I don’t know if this really qualifies for a knee but can someone explain to me how Rick Perry got in charge of our nuclear weapons?” Melania asked. She would not confirm or deny if she was also taking a knee to protest her marriage.
As of the 11:04 mark in the second quarter, Melania was still kneeling.
The students, from Carver Middle School, won first prize in the Washington, D.C. based anti-bullying contest which was referred to by teachers as “the contest we added to the curriculum when Trump started his presidential campaign.”
The students’ project suggested teachers play videos of President Trump’s speeches and read his tweets as textbook examples of bullying. The students recommended teachers simply instruct students to act in the opposite manner.
You are a great satirist. We all miss Mark Twain!
