$5 Friday Pick: Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge

We’ve donated $15,982 to non-profit and volunteer
farmed animal rescue and advocacy organizations on $5 Fridays.
That’s amazing! Let’s keep it going!

Why should you donate $5 to Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge?

1. Piedmont is 100% volunteer run, so 100% of donations go directly to their rescue and education programs.

2. Piedmont is supported by a large local community of vegans and animal advocates who have seen their work first-hand and continue to support them. Read the confidence-building testimonials from the people who know them best.

3. Piedmont has a large vegan education program, including free vegan cooking classes they offer throughout the year. Donations make it possible for them to continue encouraging and supporting individuals to move towards a vegan lifestyle.

4. Piedmont takes great care to grow slowly and sustainably, ensuring that every single animal resident receives the best care possible. They currently care for more than 50 individuals, including their newest resident, baby Luther the lamb!

Piedmont’s Goals

1) Raise funds to install a protective perimeter around their sanctuary property to bring more safety and security to their animal residents.

2) Erect a small medical building that will serve their rescued birds and small ruminants, such as pygmy goats or babies.

3) They hope to increase the richness of their pastures for their chickens and turkeys by adding additional bushes, plants, and a medicinal herbal garden for free foraging.

4) They are recruiting volunteers to assist in the construction of habitats for rescued ducks and geese, including ponds, planted pastures and housing, with the goal of rescuing these species by the end of the summer. They also hope to build housing for pigs and cattle.

5) They want to grow their in-school educational program, and build an education center at their sanctuary equipped with a teaching kitchen.

Your donation today can help them reach their goals. Let’s rally for this all-volunteer team of animal heroes.
