Dear Miley,
I’ve never seen Hannah Montana or your VMA performance but I have read about your efforts to save animals. Thank you for recently tweeting your fans to sign a petition to ban horse-drawn carriages in New York City. As you know, the horses suffer from heat exhaustion, inadequate living conditions in stables, breathing in exhaust from taxis, cars, and buses, and easily get scared by loud noises and sometimes suffer injuries as a result. After the horses no longer serve a purpose lugging tourists through the streets, they’re sold at auction and endure unfathomable transport to Mexico and Canada where they’re slaughtered and eaten.
This horse recently collapsed from heat exhaustion after pulling people in a carriage. How can anyone believe there is justification for causing such harm to horses because they don’t want to walk, bike, or take a pedicab?
He was so weak that he couldn’t stand up so his owners dragged him and eventually used a forklift to transport him back to a stable.
Please continue to help us inspire people to show kindness for animals. There are many simple ways your fans can help and you can help us by tweeting the website to our upcoming Florida March Against Cruelty to Animals where we will give voice to horses and all other animals that need our help. What she does on stage is an act……What she does in real life is who she is. Miley, Thank you for using your voice to help make the public aware. If others in your profession would have the courage to speak up and act, what a wonderful world we could make for the animals and for us. Again, thank you , thank you, thank you!!!!!!

I personally have always liked you Miley. My daughter is a huge fan. We need people in the spotlight to help animals all over the country suffering in the name of entertainment, food and “sport”. Please continue to use your voice to help those who cannot speak for themselves.
