Free Sea Shepherd Captain Paul Watson

Sea Shepherd Captain Paul Watson was recently arrested in Germany on a decade-old warrant from Costa Rica for allegedly entering a restricted area at sea during the 2002 filming of Sharkwater, a documentary that won 31 international awards. The incident occurred when Sea Shepherd found an illegal Costa Rican shark-finning operation. He is currently being detained in Germany where he is awaiting extradition to Costa Rica.

Please email Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, the Federal Minister of Justice, at sabine.leutheusser-schnarrenberger@bundestag.de  and Dr. Guido Westerwelle, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at guido.westerwelle@bundestag.de and politely ask them to release Captain Watson. His arrest is purely political and driven by the forces seeking to exploit and slaughter marine life.

*Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Their mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
